Egypt's entry into the telecommunication and information age is now an unavoidable national responsibility.

1-Communications
The Egyptian Telecommunications Company (Telecom Egypt) relies on its own self-resources. The company's investments reached from 8.5 percent to 17 percent countrywide in telephone intensity.

These investments will be used to establish underground and aerial networks and new telephone exchanges in under-served towns and villages. Investments also include LE 4.5 billion to modernize current telephone networks.

2- Information:
Egypt today is living the age of information revolution and the beginning of information revival that depends in the first place on abundant and rapidly circulating and absorbed knowledge.

Consequently there emerged new cultures and communities based on freedom of knowledge and the state's orientation towards advanced technologies employing economic systems that can be called "information economy" or in other words "digital economy".
